Fine, professionals, you can have a curved display, but it’s not going to look cool

They’re real pretty and very future feeling. But here’s the snag, these monitors are all primarily designed for gamers. You are a professional, not a gamer. But you know what, you deserve a curved screen, too, and NEC is going to give it to you. Well actually your IT administrator will, but you know what I mean.

The new EX341R is a 34-inch, 1880R curvature display that’s optimized for you, the professional. It has a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 5-millisecond response time, and features DisplayPort daisy-chain functionality. (It also has HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4.) Get those multiple monitors fired up, you professional. The EX341R includes a quad-port USB 3.0 hub with two USB type-B ports, too.

But NEC also wants people who require specific color viewing to use their curved display, so it works with SpectraViewII software, which makes colors more uniform and accurate, NEC says. The company is selling two versions of the monitor — the EX341R-BK and EX341R-SV-BK. The BK comes bundled with the SpectraViewII software and costs $1,149. The display alone costs $999.
